Fish Biryani - By VahChef @ VahRehVah.com

Hello namaste salaamwalekum satsriyakaal;  welcome back to another session with your VahChef at Vahrehvah.Com. Today  I'm going to show you how to make a simple Fish biryani. So for that i
got some Mahi fish see whatever fish you use make sure the fish is not a thin kind of fish you know especially if you can get nice medium sized chunks of
fish then you know it is really really good because if you have thin fish you
know you're most likely to make a Keema out of it. So you know this fish has got the skin I'll just remove the skin of the fish all you do is cut straight till the
skin just turn it at a 20 degree angle and just run the knife, do the same thing the other side; let the blade be towards the chopping board and you can see how the skin comes off very easily just cut into nice cubes lot of fishes have white meat some fishes have little bit mixture of white and brown this Mahi fish while it bigger and
bigger the fish gets a little bit browner just like trout when the fish is small the meat is white and when the fish grows the meat turns pinkish in color just make any sound look at this fish
nice beautiful chunks.

See this is one kind of fish you need to make fish tikka, or fish kebabs and so on. So we're going to make fish biryani with this we have learned how to make lamb biryani, chicken biryani, egg, shrimp but fish is so tender if you're going to put it at the bottom and cook it you're going to really really have mashed kind of fish so to avoid that we're going to make
this fish biryani in a different style; we're going to fry it, keep it aside, in
the same pan we're going to make a nice mixture and cook rice and on the top
we're going to put the fish and then Dum it for few minutes so to make this I always marinate my
fish to fry with little bit of chilli powder, little bit of turmeric, little bit of oil and I like to add little bit of biryani masala add a
little bit of lime juice this should be good enough add little bit of salt ok just mix this marination if you want the flavor to go inside the fish just marinate for like 20 to 30 minutes I've got this pan hot i'm going to add
some oil; when the oil is hot just add fish pieces  one by one and cook it really nice when ever you're try to fry fish
especially a shallow kind of fry try to use a non-stick pan because
that reduces half the tension that you don't have to scrape it. Once your fish sticks at the bottom if you try to scrape it it breaks very easily so always use a nonstick pan for this so all you have to do is cook this fish
seventy to eighty percent so cook on one side for 2-3 minutes and turn it to the other side so turn the fish to the other side seventy percent cooked; so very carefully remove the fishes out ok very carefully remove piece by piece and put it in a plate which we are going to use it later on the rice so now if you see I've got this little oil and all the tit bits from the fish that are very flavorful I don't throw this away so what I'm
going to do I'm going to make my marination everything in together so I'm going to add one cup of yogurt in here, 2 teaspoons of biryani masala see always add little less if you want
to add more biryani masala you can sprinkle a little more after you taste the whole mixture i'm going to add some mint leaves I'm going to add coriander leaves, one more herb that shall go into this particular biryani is Dill leaf see this dill leaf and this fish birynai makes really good
combination so add dill leaves but not too much,
use just quarter just like few strings just to give a nice flavor because this
dill leaf has got a very strong flavor add some ginger-garlic, instead of
cutting, chopping them I love to use the whole green chilli;
this fish biryani just slit them and add to it and you can add some lemon
juice to this. One cup of fried onion, i'm going to use half of it here, i'm going to take half of this mixture and for all pour all the fish so all I'm doing is, take this and put it on top of the fish by now you all know how to make rice for your biryani, so add some oil add some salt add shahi jeera, if you want you can add some cloves, bay leaf and some cardamom.

If you don't want this whole garam masalas to come in your mouth when you're eating, you can do one thing is you can put all this garam masala in a cheese cloth that is a muslin cloth  and put them tie a knot and put it inside so this water absorbs all the flavors
and when you remove the rice you can remove that packet out and then you won't have this whole garam masala here I soaked this rice for almost half an hour so I'm going to add and the beauty about soaking this rice and cooking is
this rice just cooks in just two minutes and then second thing is that it expands really nice a lot of people complain how come my basmati rice doesn't expand really long that is because you do not soak it so
you check all my biryanis I always soak rice for 30 minutes and then i cook it I'm going to cook this rice till it is 80 percent done and rest of the 20 percent i'm going to cook it along with
the fish now my rice is eighty percent done I'm going to take it away and drain the
water. Coming back to our fish masala now we can check the seasoning ok now you can see in this masalas i added little bit of that rice water into it and now I'm going to add this rice very hot
look at this it's almost steaming rice hot so just put on top very nice layer now reduce the flame and just spread the rice evenly and then add your saffron color and add little bit
of fried onions, spread this fish evenly okay just be careful this fish are very tender all you do is
just spread it on top and this water which is full of fish flavor that also will get penetrated into the rice and look at how masaladar our fish is ok i'm not putting one fish on top of
other I very neatly arranged the fish and then all you do is cover it with a lid which is airtight and let it simmer for like 10 minutes
and in another 10 minutes your fish biryani will be ready. Biryani is ready, look at this beautiful biryani take the fish from the top very
carefully ok see even if I touch little bit this fish can get broken easily. Wow..

You have to be very very careful look at this just check how beautiful the rice is ok it's like wow look at this beautiful
rice whoooo wow...So friends, there are two ways a good biryani is judged one is how fluffy your rice is, second thing is how flavorful and juicy your meat is so you look at this very nice juicy yet nice flavorful and then apply little bit
raita on it and wow if you have been following my videos we
have covered a lot of basic biryani like a lamb chicken fish shrimp egg vegetable and so many biryanis so in the future we're going to make some more speciality biryanis which have crazy
names and crazy flavors so i hope you have enjoyed this session of making this fish biryani with your VahChef but remember you can go ahead and say thank you to vahrehvah.Com by visiting my website and also by posting recipes and cooking tips so others may benefit from your great cooking. Thank you..

Big Tanks, Big Fish, and Big Rich - Touring Ohio Fish Rescue

Alright, we're here at uh... Well this place is crazy and you're about
see why. I'm here with Rich. And Rich is...He....Well I'm gonna let Rich tell you exactly what this place is and...And what he does.

OK. How you doing. I'm Big Rich. This is my
fish rescue.

We save and rescue fish that grow too big
for your tanks that the pet stores shouldn't sell. Redtail cats, pacus, iridescent sharks. They're very cute this big but they can grow up to four foot, five foot and then there's nobody out there equipped to take them and the pet stores.... They're not equipped and the zoos and the aquariums around town that used to take them no longer take them no more so these fish are basically sentenced to death.

Eventually. So what I did was I started.... I started with a ten gallon tank and I wanted bigger, so I've finagled my way into some big tanks so now I can save
these big fish. Come on into my fishroom.

This here is our first tank. This me and my son Joshua built and it's 3,000
gallons. It's got an 11-foot window. It's 16 foot long, six and a half foot deep and 44 inches high.

And we've got some... Here's a hybrid between a redtail cat and
a tiger shovelnose. There's red tail cats down here, there's iridescent
sharks, pacus, there's a tiger shovelnose. We just filled it with water and moved the
fish in.

That's why you see some of these fish have
their fins are a little bit messed up. They got hurt in the transport from the other
tanks so it's going to take a month and two before all that grows out and they'll start looking good again. And we're just trying to make room for more
fish. Over here now this is our 450 gallon, It's a Dutch Aquarium System, DAS tank.

It got donated to us from Aquarium Authority
when they closed down and we use this for our hospital tank. All the new fish come in...Because all my tanks are all on one system, I can't have ich take over everything, and then treat 17,000 gallons of water. So we put them in the quarantine tank for
a month, treat them with all kinds of medicine... There's a new guy right here, a greater siren.

He's got two front legs, no hind legs, and he's more of an eel than a salamander But, you know the newer fish go in here. There's some stingrays. Over here this is the dog bone. I bought it at an auction when Aquarium Authority
closed down on Ridge Road.

This here I fill with fish that I can give
away. Because we take in fish for people and like if you have your son, little Joey names the fish, you know, spider
or...Bug bug. Whatever he names it, if you donate that fish
to us, We now because it has a name, we keep that fish forever and give it a forever
home. You can come back and visit your fish any
time.

But this here is fish like...A guy's house
caught on fire and he called us. Please come save these fish, take em. I don't have no place to put em. We can find them other homes.

So these are on the smaller scale that we
can give out to people and find them homes. So that's what this tanks about. Come on this way. This is our our thousand gallon.

This was...Way back at my last house this was my 'to end all' tank. I bought it for myself. I wanted it, I was just into fishkeeping at
the time. This is going to be my biggest tank ever.

I love it. I bought it from a place that was closing
down and got a good deal on it. $4,500, Brand new aquarium. They delivered, semi come up and this was
my tank.

But you know, now that I'm here at this house
we have upgraded and now we started the rescue. But this is basically an eclectic... A bunch of fish together that you wouldn't think could fit there, you know? There's South American cichlids, there's african arowanas, you got angelfish, you got a fly River turtle, you got a dorado out of the Amazon River. There's a bunch of clown loaches and flagtails, and look at the size of these bala sharks.

They're...I've never seen any that big but,
they're old. Come on this way. And don't get on me for my saltwater decor, but I happened to have them laying around. I'd gotten a deal at an auction once and I
didn't...

I don't have to go and buy driftwood for decorations. I had these laying around. So I do have a saltwater freshwater reef system
looking thing. But it gives the place...The fish places to
hide and stuff.

Over here we have the baby stingrays and there's
a couple... There's a fire eel and a spotted eel in there. And sometimes even people that get a 10 gallon
tank and buy little fish end up they want out of the hobby or something
so we take in them fish. They come over here this 50 gallon.

There's a little tire track eel, a little fire eel, some artedi knives, there's some little baby bala sharks, a baby peacock bass. Just stuff that, you know, when I find somebody and they're big enough where they are eating
good I can give these away too. This here is our pool full of just basically a bunch of different things. There's clown knives, pacus, we've got a bunch of oscars, tilapia, albino oscar here.

We have an albino clown knife over that corner. He's pretty big. There's a blue channel cat A julianus progarvus. I had to take him out of the 4400.

He was fin nipping the arowanas. And he don't bother nobody in here, but the big tank he was bothering the arowanas so we had to take him out and put him in here. Now over here are some big guys. Now I'm going to move them to the 3000 gallon
at the end over there but in the meantime for this weekend I've left them here for the fact that there's going to be a lot of people coming for the OCA show and this is kind of a neat thing but this is Big Papa.

He's a tiger shovelnose and he likes to be
petted. You can pet him and he'll swim away and he'll
come back and want to be petted some more he'll do a
big circle and he'll come back. There's an iridescent shark there, a big redtail, a niger cat. This here is Two Face.

He's a big redtail and here comes Papa back,
wants some more. I love it. Everybody. But we want to reiterate that you don't wanna,
like you might think this is cool watching him pet this fish but that doesn't mean you need to just go out and try and buy one without having a crazy setup to be able to support it.

They get really big and it's really rare for a fish that likes to be touched. You can have that in any kind. You might find a cichlid you might find a flowerhorn, but you know eventually there's certain fish that like to be touched. It ain't all tiger shovelnose.

But you know I don't want to send out the message everybody should you know get these fish. They actually shouldn't be sold at the pet
store because they do get so big and the fact is that they sell them at the pet stores and there's no place that you can give these fish to, so the pet stores are basically sentencing them to death. Eventually. It's a matter of time.

When they get this big who's got a...You know if you had him in a a 150 he'd destroy your
tank. He'd break it. That's why they're called tank busters. But you know I have the facility right now to where I'm able to help for a little bit but I'm gonna get overrun eventually and I don't know, you know I can't even give them to the zoos or the aquariums0 I've been trying.

But anyways here is our 750 tank. It's for the mini monsters. Now all these big guys are going into the three thousand. These guys here I'm going to take out the biggest four or
so and put them in the three thousand with the big guys and the rest of them.

I can add some more. I've got more in the pot here I can add up here and you got to feed them and grow them out for a while. And come on over this way. This here, he's a neat guy.

Oh I'm sorry. This guy here he's an aba knife fish. Some pet stores sell them as aba aba knives. He's a really neat fish but I can't keep him in with anything.

He will take bites out of other fish about
the size of my thumb. They've got really sharp teeth and if you don't kill the fish he'll come back later, take another bite out. And eventually gonna kill anything that he's put in with so I put him in this 500 gallon and we build a sand, underwater waterfall there out of sand and he's pretty neat. I'm waiting for the sand to clear up.

It made the water a little milky but you know it's a pretty neat setup. Then I can take all this extra filtration off of it and it won't look so hokey. And then over here we have the 550 and anyone out there wants to get into the fish hobby my suggestion is get your wife a tank you do some goldfish, some koi, something pretty. Discus.

Cichlid tank. And once she's into it you're free to get
into your hobby. Happy wife happy life. So this is the old lady's koi comet tank and then I.

Had to put some, I got some South American Lungfish in there and they were getting picked on in other tanks. Just because people will ask, you said it looks like they're starting to pick off these goldfish a little bit. Yeah there's a goldfish back there with his head missing. Well one of the lungfish got em and she was
upset about it.

I'm sure. I mean a comet is 50 cents at the pet store but Tracey's like 'look how long their tails are, they're so beautiful' She was about ready to cry when one of them
was gone. I understand that. Alright so...

Another little hint here. See how the bottom
is tiles? Everybody has to do the gravel in all the tanks, well I have so many tanks that I try and come up with ways to make it easier to take care of. I don't have to gravel clean in this tank. I don't have to do nothing.

The tiles are
there and with a bubble wall on the back wall it keeps the water rotating so no dirt accrues on the bottom and the filters are able to take it away. Makes life so much easier. Seriously. It don't look half bad.

So should we show them the big tank? Yeah, let's go around. So you guys might be thinking 'what are you
talking about? We've see all these big tanks.' Well you haven't seen the biggest tank. OK this is a 4,400 gallon aquarium built by Waterdog Products. It has a three inch thick acrylic window.

14 Foot long, 6 foot tall. It's 7 foot from front to back. This is something I ran across at an auction. I didn't go there to buy this and I put a jokingly bid on this and I ended up winning it.

Couldn't believe it but it was a 10 hour drive
away and we had to rent a pickup truck and a car trailer to set this on and bring it home in the middle of winter. This actually sat outside my house in the
snow for two years. Now the guy from Waterdog Products said that
if this window gets cold it would shrink more than a half an inch of 14-foot and it would pop the seams so for two years this had a heater inside. It had a camera from my house camera system, security system and then I.

Had a big thermostat on the wall and it was, this was covered with styrofoam and I had it shrink wrapped and covered in a tarp and then I could see inside and keep the temperature monitored. So this sat outside for two years and we bought this house, we put it in here, filled it up, never had a problem. Talk to me about some of these fish. OK this here is a gold iridescent shark.

We call him Schwarzenegger. These are some albino pacus. These are arowana fish here. There's four
of them in there.

This guy here is called Burt. He's well known around Ohio. He was at the Aquarium Authority forever. They were trying to sell him for like $300.
I ended up getting him and then this here.

He's got his own web page. There was a lady that donated him to me named Kimberly. His name is Sir Heisenberg von Fishface. That's it.

And like we said if anybody donates fish to us that has a name, their family pet, we keep them here forever and let them you know grow old eventually meet their death here. This is where they're going to stay, that way the people can come back and visit anytime they want so we've got a lot of fish that are named. The fish that are unnamed I can find other homes for, we know many people through the United States that have big tanks. But like we got a school of schomburgki here.

Them are actually silver dollars, they're
wide bar silver dollars. They're myleus schomburgki. Them are the biggest I've ever seen. They
get big.

So them are 15 inches, 14 inches they're big silver dollars. So let's see what else we got here. Oh yeah there's a bunch of clown knives. Now he's probably about 28 inches.

There's some speed 33 to 35 inch clown knives in the back behind this coral and they're back there. Their humps are about 4 inches wide, they're huge, I've never seen clown knives that big. But they hide all the time unless almost food comes out then they come out to eat and go back in there. Now I have a three and a half foot South American lungfish in here if I could get a
picture or show him.

He usually hides right back in here Nope, I don't see him. Yeah he comes up every 20 minutes to get some air and goes back down. That's a pearsei cichlid. Then here's another pacu and an iridescent
shark.

These are masheers. There's gold and blue. Oh that's an alligator gar back there. I don't know why he hides but he's back there.

We got long nose gars here. Oh this is a thin bar. He's pretty beat up,
he was pretty beat up when he came in but we got that thin bar there's another thin bar here there's a good good-lookin thin bar and then there's a fourth one right there. We actually read the thin bars and you look over here to the thousand gallon you have babies of them in here.

Here's one here there's like four or five in here now. It came from our our fish breeding naturally. I'm not trying to breed them but they did breed. Okay so let me ask you a couple questions.

Yes sir. So this tank here, how is this filtered? It has an out right there so we pump water in on that side to that big 2-inch PVC pipe and the water fills up the tank and overflows out and it comes back here. We have an 800 gallon filter here. Go back
in this way.

I'll continue talking but you can go in that
way. That is a sock table that I had Steve Shin
from Aquatica build for me and it's nine socks that are 100 micron apiece so the water comes in goes through these nine socks and then I have four foot of house plants here taking out nitrates. And the bottom of this 800 gallon tub is basically a settling chamber and you know once a year or so we got to clean the bottom of this off of slump. It's about six to eight inches thick.

And that keeps it from getting back into the
water. And then the water comes out into that through
this pipe here into our homemade biological filters. This is just the sock that I cut to keep the splashing
down. The water goes into the...

It was an old garbage
can that I. Drilled a bunch of holes in and that's full of bioballs and then it comes out on
the other side you see the waters rippling comes out that way so I had to use two garbage cans to split it up - there's too much water for one to handle so this is biological that's mechanical and that's how we filter it. I'm getting ready, I'm gonna have to upgrade
the filtration because I've got a 2200 gallon
tank outside right now with the heater in it and the cameras that we're gonna have to move in here and we're doing an addition now to be able to you know handle another tank. We have no room in here.

So we're doing the addition to get another tank out there so I'm gonna need more filtration. We're gonna have to revamp the whole thing and you know we're trying. Over here this tank someone gave us a set of breeding Jack Dempseys. They're in the back corner there and I.

Just have water run for the 750 and dripping down into here and some sponge filters in there but they breed every so often have a bunch of babies. So we give away a lot of fish and help out on the smaller items. The
bigger fish we keep here and basically give them a forever
home. So I won't make you talk any longer.

You've really shown us so much and we appreciate it. Let me just say running something like this cannot be cheap. I won't make you talk about exactly what it runs to maintain it but guys I'm going to work with Rich between now and when this video comes out. Hopefully we'll get some type of a way for you guys if you think what he's doing is a worthy cause to donate to which I think that definitely is, it's really cool what he's doing.

We're going to try and if you look down in the video description hopefully we'll have some type of a way for you to donate and help keep this keep this running. So thank you Rich so much for walking us around this is really awesome. Can't believe this is all just in your house here really awesome, appreciate it and thanks everyone for watching until next time have a good one..

Beach Fishing The Best Baits to Catch Fish at ANY Beach!

What's going on, guys!? Today we're going to be talking about what is the best bait to use for the beach? Woah! So, today, we're going to catch some dinner fish, using the Salt Clams and the fleas and the Fish Bites, we're going to catch some dinner fish, cook it right up on the beach, and, uh... I'll show you guys how I do that! These baits are really good for beginners if you're trying to target specific fish, and you're really intensive into, like, game fishing, this might not be the best kind of sugegstion for you. This is for the laid-back fisherman who wants to go to the beach, sit back, cast some lines out, and get on to a lot of fish! This is for the dinner fishermen, people who want to catch fish for fun, and for food. So there's always the classic sand flea.

Sand fleas live on the beach, under the sand, near where the surf breaks you can find them by digging them, or you can have--you can buy one of these sand flea rakes. Which, basically, I'll show you in a second how I catch sand fleas. Actually, I'll show you right now. So, you've gotta look at the waves, at the sand near the waves, you'll see them scattering under the sand.

Look! Look at that! It's full of fleas! [Brendon's Dad:] Wash it off, the sand, in the water there! Look at all those fleas! Now, this is one of the best baits for the beach. Because they live right next to all the fish, the fish love feeding on these. So, it's really simple to use sand fleas. There's no--nothing really important you need to know, you just hook on a sand flea.

You can do one, you can do two. A lot of times, I do two... And a lot of different kinds of fish will bite a sand flea! Now, I'm using this sand flea on a Pomp Boss Rig. I got them from nativesaltclam.Com, the rig works really well for the beach, I mean it's got these little beads, and it's got a floatie on it, (but you can take it off of you don't like it.) The idea behind these beads, and the color, the chartreuse and the orange, is, it's supposed to mimic the underbellies of the sand fleas, a lot of times they're orange under here with eggs, and this flashy color will attract the fish.

Woah! Anything on? On? Big hit? On?? Seaweed! Ooooh! Look what I got! What do you have? Oh yeah.
What is that? What the--? Sand perch? No... Look at that--look at that nose! What the--?! Wait, what is that? Look at that, look at the nose... That is a really strange looking fish. Do we have any guesses as to what kind of fish this is? I've never seen a fish like this before, comment below, let us know.

Now, every one of these baits have their own pros and cons list. The sand flea works really well, however, um, one: they're not always at the beach, two: they seem to be picked off pretty easily, and three: they die pretty easily. The second bait that I want to recommend is Fish Bites! They come in a variety of different scents and flavors, um, and the thing with Fish Bites is they're very tough, and they stay on the hook real well... Let me show you.

It looks like a stick of gum! But inside is like, is some kind of mesh. You can see, there's mesh in it. You see? And you put a strip on and, believe it or not, it works pretty well. It's actually--
There are reports of Fish Bites catching fish all over the world, and um, I really think that if you want convienience and you don't want to have to buy um, blood worms or like, stuff that'll perish, stuff that you have to refrigerate, this is a good bet, which leads me to one of my favorite baits at the beach, now, this product, Native Salt Clam Bait, I use it all the time, and for those of you who've seen it, you guys know that it catches a lot of fish.

The greatest thing about this bait is that it smells great, it's--it's tough, not as tough as the Fish Bites, but it's tough, um, so it'll stay on the hook well, and it catches a lot of fish! --And the combination of these two on the same hook works really well. These two work really well if you're trying to catch dinner fish, if you're trying to catch some fish to eat um, these two work really well in combination or individually. So, let's see how these baits work, I'll show you guys how I hook it up. Come on.

So today we're with the maker of Salt Clams, and he's giving us a lot of good tips, and uh, he's a pretty fun guy to fish with. Right now, I think he's using his own Pomp Boss Rigs and um, Salt Clams, um, he's got three rods out, take a look. Look at those rods. They're so long! They're huge! Wait, look.

Look how tall it is! Look at this bird! It's only got one foot! I've got a pretty long rod myself, I mean, it's not that long, nine foot, um, but if you notice, we all have long rods out here, we-you need a long rod to be able to cast it out! If you have a short, little inshore rod, it's not going to work really well-- you can catch fish still, but look at this, come here. Look at how long this is right here. An inshore rod gets cut off here. You need this extra bit for more leverage, and if you have a fish on, you stick this between your legs and you start crankin'.

See? Woah, Killian's got one! Nice! That's a good eatin' fish. Nice whiting. We can definitely eat this one. Yeah, let's eat that.

You were casting right beyond the break?
Just beyond the- uh, the drop off. Okay. 'Cause they cruise around here and eat those coquina clams that live in here, sand fleas and stuff, even during the day, 'cause the big one's'll-- I'll catch them in my cast net sometimes up in the wash.
Wow. There's a lot of sand fleas.

You're just putting big chunks of clam on, huh? Yeah, not too big, too much is really a waste, I kind of waste it 'cause I make it, you know, if I was buying it I'd be using half these size chunks and catching more fish, I'd imagine, 'cause they can't really get this in their mouth so good, a half of this sized piece on here they just put it all in their mouth and get hooked right away, but this a lot of times they'll pull it off, so by doing this, I'm actually lowering my chances of catching fish. Well you just caught one, so something's working, ha ha.
Yeah! That's true. Can catch fish. Um, did you say you didn't even cast it very far? No, not at all, she saw where I put it, but I put it--there's a drop off here, where it finally drops off, where the last break is, it goes like 4 or 5 feet, Uh huh.
Right behind that drop off, so You can see--right-- right there! And back.

Okay. It's a real good drop off, and you want to be on the other side of it. So it's like a trough. It's a trough, exactly.

It's a drop off
It's a trough, and fish-- with a trough and it starts right where the break is. --And bigger fish will swim and hunt for food in that trough. Correct, definitely, and they also eat the coquina clams and other types of clams which live here naturally, you'll find them in whiting stomachs all the time,
Ahh. Uh, they eat the sand fleas, they eat shrimp--
So whitings love clam? They love clam, it's their natural forage.

That's what they eat every day is clams. Alright.
You open them up, they're full of clams sometimes. Alright, I'mma--
The little ones that live on the beach. I'm going to put a triple threat on.

Clam, sand fleas, and shrimp, all on one hook, let's see what happens.
Alright. You'll probably get a catfish. A catfish? Well, we'll see, ha ha ha, What do I know? So I've got Salt Clams on, I'm going to put a sand flea on at the same time, oh yeah. Salt Clam // Sand Flea combination! Let's see what happens.

Dad, he said that dont cast it very far. This first trough right here. Whoo!! The first trough! It was right on the first trough, you were right, Killian! Catfish! You were right about that, too!
Oh my gosh! Ha ha! Oh my gosh... No...

Spanish Pompano. Maybe the Senko viewers can do a, uh, I.D. On this one.
Ok. So, if you know what kind of fish this is, please comment below, it looks kind of like a pompano...

Yeah, yeah, I believe it's a Spanish Pompano or a Palmetto, something like that,
Alright, please comment below if you can identify this fish. No size limit. Awesome. So what are we going to do? I usually throw them back, 'cause they're so small.
Yeah, yeah.

And this was on the Clam again! Still got my bait. Still have the bait on. Got a white floatie on the top and an orange one on the bottom, --White.
It ate it on white. They're hitting white, they're hitting orange, It's not seeming to matter.

Putting more bait on. Freshen it up. Alright, here's lunch! Killian caught this earlier on the Salt Clam, what we're going to do is, um, we're going to cook up the whole fish! What's the secret recipe today? This is just flour. Alright.

Dry it out.
Yeah. Give it something to brown up a little. This doesn't need much seasoning. You can put some more on if you want.

Watch you fingers. That looks ready, that's ready. Woah. We should have cut his tail off.

Ohh. Ohh ho ho.
What's that? Fried sand fleas. Ooh, sand fleas.
Yeah, I want to see how they taste. Yeah, I think they're just about done.

You think they're done already? That's pretty delicious. Woah! Woah!
Ha ha ha! They're excellent! It was like a popcorn chicken, it was like-- Really nice. Yeah it was, nice and crispy.
Yeah. Super crispy, like popcorn shrimp.

Ohhh ho ho ho! Look at that! Yeaaa! That looks great. Whoo! Alright. We don't have forks. We'll just use our fingers.

Yup.
What do you think, Dad? Approve?
It looks good, yeah. I'm gonna just pick it up. Wow, it looks good. Oh yeah.

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Fried whiting on the beach. Wow.

Mmmm. Alright, there you go. The texture of the fish is really nice. Mhmm.

Even the fins, huh? Alright, sand flea coming up!
We will, we will. You can even eat the head meat. For an aperitif.
And when you fry it up, you can actually, look-- it's like a chip. Ah! Alright.

That was delicious.
That was awesome. Thank you guys for watching. We're going to enjoy our fish now. We're going to be fishing and eating all day.

Beach Fishing The Best Baits to Catch Fish at ANY Beach!

Beach fishing Simple Fishing Rig catches BIG fish!

I gotta let this thing go Huh? I gotta let this thing go but I can't get the hook! So we need to wash it up really quickly, basically, right? Yeah.-- Get the hook off-- Either that or I'm thinking maybe I'll just cut the line... I don't want it to- I don't want it to die. Or get stranded up here, right. Oh my goodness! Woah! [Introduction glitchy computer sound] Hey guys, so today we're going to be talking about some simple fishing rigs to use when fishing at the beach.

Some of you guys may be only fishing at the beach maybe one to two times a year, or you don't frequent the beach that often, and, uh, you don't want to spend that much time investing into uh, figuring out the rigs, or figuring out how to tie it, so I have this rig right here, it's actually- it's a pompano rig but I find that it works for many other species and um, it's basically an up-down rig with two hooks, a bead and a float on each of them and, um, I find this really simple, not because it's the best rig out there, it's a rig that's already you know, rigged up, all I gotta do is tie it on, cast it out, um, it doesn't- I don't have to spend time tying myself a rig this is an easy, simple rig that does catch fish I get these rigs from nativesaltclam.Com um, I know the guy who makes them, I know the guy who sells them, and uh, they make a lot of different variety of these, um, these kind of rigs. See, instead of- instead of floaties, this just has beads. And that may draw some fish in, just because of the color and how it looks. These rigs are effective because they're so simple, there's not too much frills about it, There are so many rigs out there that are unnecessarily complicated, too many swivels, too many hooks everywhere, it just gets messy.

They have circle hooks at the end so you don't even have to set the hook, you actually let the fish set the hook themselves. They'll pull it and set the hooks themselves. Makes it even easier. So just attach whatever bait you want on it, Squid, bloodworms, salt clams, fish bites, whatever you want, cast it out, and if there's fish in this vicinity, they'll probably eat it.

Now this rig is not the "best rig," it all depends on situation, I think this is a pretty versatile rig, that I would use if I just wanted to catch some fish, just relax, sit back, hang out, nothin' too crazy, um, this is just my recommendation, take it or leave it, I'm not saying this is the "best" way, this is what I'm saying works best for me. Today's our first day at Rehoboth Beach, um, and we're going to try some fishing, I packed very minimally today, I just brought these few rigs, Salt Clams, and um, fish bites. You know, these are, uh, baits that I  just keep in my backpack that I just have. Uh, they're not better than live bait, they're not better than like, stinky frozen bait, but they do work, and they're pretty convenient because I don't have to refrigerate this, I don't have to freeze this, and it's not super stinky and messy.

Uh, I can keep it in my backpack, that's why I like it. You don't want it too big because then it won't-- it might not fit in the fish's mouth. So let's have it just the right size just like this. Ready? So now, I'm not just going to hook it once, I'm going to hook it twice, and a third time.

'Kay? So it sits on here like this, now when a fish will bite this it'll take the whole thing in and it'll start swimming away with it this hook is designed so that when the fish starts swimming away with it it'll hook itself. So I'll put salt clams on the top one, and then I'll put some fish bites on the bottom one. Now these two baits, they're also very tough. You know, this is pretty tough meat right here, and this is even tougher! Honestly, these look a little more appealing to me so I'm gonna I'm gonna put some more on here.

So I'll do (Wow) two different baits on here. (Oh my goodness.) There we go. (Let me see it again.) At the bottom of this rig I'm going to put a two ounce sinker. Just because the-- I wanna be able to sling it out pretty far I think-- depending on where you're fishing, that's how you decide how heavy your weight is.

Here I wouldn't--I wouldn't put a four ounce weight, that would be wayyy to heavy. I think two might be even pushing it. But that's all I got today. If the waves are going crazy, um, and the current is very strong, you're going to want a heavy weight so it'll stay in that same spot.

Now, these rigs-- with these floaties it'll keep the bait off the bottom it'll keep it suspended. I'm just gonna cast this out and see what bites. So you cast it, you reel in the slack so you can feel your sinker, you don't want to have a bunch of slack out there, um, and you wait for something to hit your line. I would advise standing right next to your pole and watching the tip, because a lot of times it will bite when you're not looking.

And you'll miss the fish. I'm speaking from experience, definitely, I've lost rods before because I wasn't watching my rod. And it-- it stinks. It stinks, especially when you spend like $200 on your setup.

(That's true, I was there.) And it's gone. Yeah. Hooked something. (It looks like a skate.) Pulling drag.

There. Still pulling me. Oh, it's going for a big run. Right there, right in the surf.

(There it is.) (Is it a cow nosed ray? Or a skate?) Let's do this pretty quick, okay? (Yeah.) So get the footage and we gotta go. (Oh my gosh, it's huge!) (Ha ha!) Oh my goodness! Woah! (How big is it?) (Oh my goodness!) Oh my god! (Oh my goodness!) It's a sea monster! (Ha ha ha ha! Oh my gosh!) (What do you need, Brendon?) (Do you need a rag? Do you need a towel? Do you need pliers?) No I got it. (Okay.) They can't hurt me, they're okay. (Okay, ha ha) (This...

Is enormous.) (I think it's a cow nosed ray? Is my guess...) Oh my god. (It's a huge one!) There it is. Oh my goodness! (A ha ha!) (That's the biggest thing I've ever seen...) ((It's s sting ray!)) ((Excited chatter)) ((Oh my gosh! Woah!)) ((More excited chatter)) (It's a sting ray...) (Or a skate, or a cow nosed ray...) I gotta let this thing go. (Huh?) I gotta let this thing go but I can't get the hook! (So we need to wash it up really quickly, basically, right?) Yeah.

(Get the hook out--) Or even I'm thinking maybe I'll just cut the line. I don't want it to-- I don't want it to die. (Or get stranded up here, right.) (There it is.) (Oh, wow! Oh my gosh!) (Laughing, excited chatter, sparse applause.) Ohh, that was crazy! I'm shaking. Huh! (How big do you think that was?) I don't know but it-- look, it bent the hook out.

(Wow.) It bent the hook out, so it's okay, it's safe out there. ((Woah!)) (Woohoo!) Ohh! (Ha ha ha ha!) --Thing was e--! (It was like... Like the biggest thing you've ever caught.) This fish took me way down the beach. It took me way down the beach and honestly I couldn't even really-- I wasn't really thinking too hard I was just-- my adrenaline was going crazy and I knew I just needed to get it in the surf unhook it and let it go safely.

Um. And there was a whole crowd of people watching me! It was... Ha ha ha! It was a little distracting. I'm really glad that I had a good rod and reel setup for that, because I was going out to fish for smaller fish and ended up hooking the biggest-- ray of my life, I'm not sure what that was called.

The biggest thing of my life! Um, and I had my St. Croix Mojo  Surf, with my Shimano Saragosa, these two are very reliable pieces of equipment and, I've stressed this before in many of my other videos, these are great. At an Aquarium with BlippiFish for Kids

Blippi   So much to learn about   it will make you want to shout!
Blippi!  Wow!
Today were at The Florida Aquarium and this is going to be so much fun! Lets go! Wow, this area you can actually touch
the stingrays with two fingers. Ok? Come on. [Music] I didnt quite get him. Oh, here it is.

I touched him,
and he is really soft. And he kinda has a little mucus
type of feel, really slippery. Oh, look at that one. Hey.

Look. Its a sea turtle. Hi! [Music] This is Tako!
Tako, do you want to dance? [Music] Wow! Look! Uh, look at all the fish.
And did you see that stingray? Wow, there are so many
tropical fish in here. Like that little guy.

Ok, lets go down here. Oh, look. Wow, there are hundreds of them. Look at that angel fish.

Hey! Uh, this is
the black and yellow fish. Hello Wow. Keep coming. Wow, whats in here? Look, they kinda look like rocks.
Do you see those? But they are actually alive.

Ok. What you do right here? I think it's time for a picture. Ok, thank you. Come on.

Its like a tunnel in here. Look at this guy, a stingray! Wow. Wow. I wonder how thick this is.

I bet is like that thick
so it doesnt break. Uh, theres fish up there. Uh, a stingray, look. Right, quick.

Did you see its tail?
That really long tails. Lets go on this side. There is a big shark. [Music] I have a better place
to see all these fish.

Hurry, lets go, quick. [Music] Look at that stingray! (Inaudible) [music] This is a really big aquarium. Uh, its coming close. Look at that one.

[Music] After seeing all different types
of sea creatures under the aquarium, Ive got to go on top of the aquarium
and do something really special. Wow, look at this place! Were on the top of the coral riff
at The Florida Aquarium. This is a little behind
the scenes for you. Ive never been on top
of an aquarium before.

Oh, look at who it is.
Whats your name? - Oh, hi, Im Eric and youre Blippi!
- Yeah, Im Blippi. - (So later is inaudible)
- Yeah, what do you do here? - Im a curator here at The Florida Aquarium.
- Ok. Were on top of the coral riff.
And curators take care animals we give care and its everything
from around the clock health care to guess what? - What?
- Feeding time! - I love food!
- I love food too, its lunch time. - Oh, it is?
- It is, its lunch for the sharks, its like lunch for our pitch turtle
you're going to meet.

For all of the thousands of fish
that are in our environment here - at Florida Aquarium.
- Woohoo, alright. I think its time, lets go! Blippi, were heading over
to the feed station right now and let me introduce you to Elisa. - Hello!
- Hi! How are you? - Good, how about you?
- Good. So were about to feeding
the deep side of our riff tank.

- Ok.
- We have a lot of different fish here. Cause we have a lot of different fish
in the riff that like to eat so right there. Take a good sniff.
Thats a fresh fish there. - Yeah.
- Yum.

Nice big (macro). So, what we have for you
is put on some gloves. Oh, I should have done that first. Its super simple.
Take a big scoop of fish.

You are just going to throw
it out into the riff. And youll see a bunch
of fish come out. - Alright. So, can I try now?
- Yeah, absolutely.

Ok, I think one is all I need. - Big scoop.
- Yeah. Whats in here exactly? So, right there we have some squid, We have some herring. We have clam and (night smelt) - It's a whole mix of different sizes.

and (macro) there. - Yeah. Three, two, one!
- Let it fly! I think you are doing a great job.
Now, lets go down below and see what it looks like to be a fish
under water - watching all that food come down.
- Ok, let's go! Lisa, take us from here! After feeding all of the sea creatures
from above the aquarium, Eric took me back down below
so we can watch all of the sea creatures eat all of the food I just fed them. It was so spectacular.

And then I went on over
to the wet land exhibit. Uh, look, a duck! Its so cute, do you see it? Cuak, cuak, cuak,
cuak, cuak, cuak. Can you make the sound of a duck? Cuak, cuak, cuak. [Music] This area is where they have the otters,

Wow, get really close.
Can you see it? Such a big fish. And there is some more fish.
Go up really close to the glass. Lets see what else they have here. [Music] I had such a great time
at The Florida Aquarium.

you can go check out some sea life.  Blippi, Blippi   Come on, everyone,
let's make learning fun   Blippi, Blippi   So much to learn about   It will make you want to shout!
Blippi! .

400 AQUARIUM FISH EGGS THAT CAME IN THE MAIL!!

Have you ever heard of sea monkeys before? Of course you have. About 60 years ago There was this huge craze essentially you get this fine little powder in the mail Or however you want to buy them you add this powder to a little bit of salt and water And they hatch into sea monkeys as hobbyists though We know that these are actually brine shrimp And we use it as a live food source for our fish especially small or newly hatched fish This powder which is literally a powder Is actually the eggs? Absolutely fascinating isn't it. Now what if we could do this with fish. Let me elaborate What if we can go on the internet choose from over a thousand? Absolutely beautifully striking fish with all different types of colors which stay relatively small yet grow Astronomically fast in comparison to their size yet their eggs can be shipped to you in an envelope Granted I know that that sounds entirely Futuristic and and maybe even sounds familiar to some of you But what I'm talking about is something that a fish That's been commonly available to the aquarium hobby for a very long time and in today's video I thought I'd tell you a story and introduce you to an absolutely fascinating fish the killifish now a few months ago before Frank was put in this aquarium here or before I even put this aquarium there my plans were to actually turn this into a killifish kind of racking system So I went online and I ordered about 400 different killifish on ebay nine different varieties about six weeks later They showed up, however.

They came in the dead of winter during a time that I was gone for about three or four days So they sat in my mailbox essentially freezing until I got home when I got home I was a little bit upset Over the fact that you know my plans for the killifish weren't going to happen so I scrapped the idea And tossed Frank in this location and gave him this aquarium too many people's excitement Frank has his own little fan club essentially now running this aquarium gallery has a lot of unique expenses Especially during the initial setup of the gallery there was a lot of garbage as well as construction materials etc basically Every few months I need to these massive garbage dumpsters so over the last few days That's what I've been up to as well as spring cleaning and catching up on yard maintenance much-needed yard maintenance during cleanup, I realized I. Didn't actually throw out those eggs, and yet I had very little hope for these guys They were frozen solid for a few days some of them were past. They're hatching dates some haven't arrived yet I thought why don't I just fill up a little plastic container here with some aquarium water and See what happens so last night, I started Unboxing all of these killifish eggs essentially they came in envelopes which is absolutely amazing I got 400 of them nine different species It cost me less than $100 these fish are costing me pennies each for an absolutely beautiful Fish that stays relatively small and is one of the most rewarding fish in the Hobby to keep Now I had forgotten what I had ordered yet all of the fish came with labels of what they are Some general information on them how many eggs are expected hatch dates etc the eggs are packed in What is a peat and this just incubates the eggs the reason why this works though is the most? Interesting a lot of fish a lot of killifish our annual killifish some are not annual But we'll talk about the annual first annual means that these guys only live for about a season They live in waterways that are eventually going to dry up so in order to ensure their survival They lay their eggs in the mud that eventually dries up all the water the adults die off But during the next raining season or flooding those eggs get wet again, and they hatch into new killifish completing the cycle Unfortunately again, they only live for one year, which is kind of sad But there are different types of killifish that live for longer than that year, and they're not an annual they are Fish that are found in Ponds and other waterways that simply don't evaporate in fact killifish are found in all over the world so I decided I'm just gonna start dumping all of them into one container I didn't have very many hopes of any of these hatching just because of what I explained earlier however I thought if I could just one to hatch it'll make doing this video worth It simply to introduce you guys to a new fascinating world so like I said I got nine different species and some of them even came with some starter food some micro worms But I had already prepared previously by buying some brine shrimp I was going to hatch my own my own live foods out to feed to the newly hatched fish and of course I've shown you how to build a brine shrimp hatchery in the past yet having nine different species I was originally going to set up nine different tanks three on each level, and it sounds like I need tanks But these Rubbermaid or Sterilite clear containers It's really all that I need toss a sponge filter in there the rooms already heated And I'm good to go so these fish still do need filtration and heating of course now of course adding them Directly to the aquarium with all that peat does create quite a bit of a mess But it settles out after a couple of hours and usually within as little as thirty minutes The fish will literally start to hatch I didn't see that I had to wait several hours And by the way I decided to do all of this at 1:00 a.M.. This morning I don't know why I do that to myself.

I just my mind gets working at the middle of the night I'm like I want it I want a hatch killifish, so that's what I did now the hatching can take up to two days or so So I'm not overly concerned With how many I have right now However, I did start to see a few in the in this bucket It's just the really hard to spot because they're truly just a very tiny microscopic Fish and if we look closely at the peak before dumping it in the water We can sort of see some of the eggs in that peat as well So now typically what you would do is probably have two or three containers of Variable sizes one small you could even do this in a little bowl if you wanted to To hatch them in then you would take a turkey baster put them in a larger tank Not too big you want it to be easy for them to find the foods you're gonna be offering which you can offer the micro Worms, you can patch up your own brine shrimp Which is what I would suggest or you can find some very small grain fry food and hopefully Work for you as well Finally having a larger size for when they become adults and getting to adults eyes only takes a few months with these guys until they're to breeding size again, they only live for a few seasons, or you know a one-year, that's why they call them annuals So of course they have to get too sexual breeding maturity relatively fast the thing that fascinates me about killifish The most is how hands-on? These fish are yet? They are relatively simple to keep you start off with tiny little eggs, so you get to experience hatching eggs for the first time if he's never bred fish before Then of course you get to make your own food for them You can create a brine shrimp hatchery for example And that's what I would highly suggest you do then you get to grow them out into adults within a very short Period of time again be so rewarding you've hatched your fish You've created the food for them And you grew them out into an absolutely stunning animal now annual killifish in the aquarium will live probably around two years So there's no worry about your fish dying in a few months now where can you get some killifish? You're not gonna be able to walk into your local fish store and find killifish Usually not maybe you'll find one or two different species But there is such a variety my suggestion is to buy the eggs online good seller will provide the date They're ready to hatch some information about them And maybe even some food like I thought you can get these on places like eBay however my suggestion would be to join a local Killifish Club, maybe there's some clubs on Facebook or some killifish forums. There's also killifish associations, I mean if the world of killifish is its own little hobby within a hobby, and I've said that about stingrays and Asian Arowana in the past, but killifish are kind of their own, niche as well a massively supportive community out there I highly suggest you get your killifish eggs from some known breeders and whatnot and don't make the mistake I did by not being around for several days in the blistering cold when your eggs arrive Otherwise you're probably not going to get a very good hatch rate now. I don't have much confidence in these guys I'm not sure how many are going to hatch, but again? It's only been a few hours, and we're already seeing some results But I think that just the test of their hardiness and how easy This can be I literally just scooped some water out of the tank behind me tossed in all of these eggs And they started to hatch so it's pretty awesome to see again. I no longer really have plans for killifish however.

I think that Perhaps in the near future. We'll take a more serious attempt at this setup a racking system Grow their food hatch the eggs etc so if that's something you want to see and you're not subscribed to this channel yet I highly suggest you do but you're not gonna want to miss that as for these guys again. I don't have high hopes But I do have a little tiny aquarium in the house that if these guys make it I'll put them in there but I think i Just wanted to use this opportunity to introduce you to those that don't know about it a pretty amazing fish.
